SCD Government College is one among selected Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) under Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India, for establishing Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) working under ‘MHRD’s Innovation Cell (MIC)’ to systematically foster the culture of innovation and start-up ecosystem. Primarily, IICs’ role is to engage large number of faculty, students and staff in various innovation and entrepreneurship related activities such as ideation, Problem solving, Proof of Concept development, Design Thinking, IPR, Project handling and management at Pre-incubation/Incubation stage, etc., so that innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem gets established and stabilised. SCD Government College is the first college in Government colleges to establish such an Innovation cell in campus. Major objective of IIC is to create vibrant innovation ecosystem and start up supporting mechanism. This Council aims to promote innovation by providing eco-system in our campus and also by identifying, mentoring, nurturing innovative and entrepreneurial potential of students and transforming them into start-up entrepreneurs by provided avenues of funding, investment opportunities and networking support to make the innovation and venture successful.
