Government Evening College
We take pride in the evening shift of our college, wherein working students are given opportunities to pursue their degree courses in the arts stream. The government evening college was conceptualised in 1966. The vision of the college is to provide an exhaustive Bachelor of Arts curriculum to the employed students in order to make them excel in their respective fields of work. The college is known for its unique contribution to the progress of the working community. Since its inception, the college has been dedicated to providing education to the workforce and entrepreneurs for advancement in their careers. It is for this reason that the students of the college are highly motivated and well aware of their life's choices, and the faculty and administration are especially sensitive to the students’ needs as they come to study after putting in a full day’s work or after hours of training or apprenticeship. The ambiance of its compact and more than 100-year-old campus is one of friendliness and ease. It is fulfilling to witness students from all walks of life and different stations in their careers learn together in a spirit of harmony and cooperation. The campus has sufficient classrooms for lectures, a library, an office and a staff room for teachers. The team of dedicated and learned college staff creates a conducive environment for the students to learn and grow. Measures are taken to ensure that the students feel safe and secure in the campus, retaining rich cultural diversity.

Academic Activities
The college offers subject options like English literature, Punjabi Literature, Hindi Literature, Political Science, History, Economics, and Mathematics to these students. The students work during the day and then attend college in the evening after their working hours, and even then they show great results. The pass percentage of students in university exams is between 96 and 99 percent.
Cultural Activities
In the cultural activities, students have won many prizes in the Panjab University zonal and inter-zonal youth festivals. The college luddi team, vaar singing, mehndi, folk dance, and histrionics won many prizes in Panjab University's zonal as well as inter-zonal youth festival. college. The cultural committee is supported by a team of faculty members. Gurjit Singh has bagged first position in Bhangra and Jhoomer in the youth festivals.
Sports Activities
Sports are an essential part of a student’s life, as they focus not only on the physical fitness aspect but also teach you various lessons of life that help build your personality and ensure a disciplined and bright future. The campus has all the facilities to carry out all the sports. Well trained coaches and in-house faculty give training to students. In sports activities, our players showed commitment, dedication, discipline, and impressive performances in all the matches, and our college students won gold, silver, and bronze medals in shotput, discuss throw, 100 metre race, 400 metre race, 1500 metre race, high jump, long jump, relay race, and basketball competition at Panjab University. The college also won the prestigious overall championship trophy. Students also took part in many events at the college's athletic meet. These activities and events provide exposure to our students and help them in their overall development. There is provision of a sports ground and gymnasium for the sports students. The various activities, being carried out at different forums are helpful in developing skills in students that will enable them to adapt and adjust well in life, shoulder social responsibilities and lead others when they step out from this institute.
