Department of Mathematics for undergraduate classes B.A. and B.Sc. Non Medical started in 1932 and post graduate courses in 1952. Since then the Department of Mathematics devoted itself to prepare students with conceptual understanding, computational skills and to use quantitative reasoning and analysis effectively i.e., logically thinking, inductive and deductive reasoning, formulate problem to handle abstract situation and solve them, develop algorithms, interrelate situations, to study symmetry and asymmetry in the universe . Our aim is to provide stimulating mathematical expertise that will bolster their future career. Instructions to the students are being given as required by National Education Policy 2020 to meet the needs of the day.
The Department of Mathematics has a sanctioned strength of 6 faculty members, with diverse specialization in mathematics. The Department is equipped with facilities like computers, printer, scanner and projector etc. There is a well maintained lawn in front of the department where students sit in their free time and enjoy the beauty of Nature along with the learning environment. The main objective of the department is to provide excellent teaching with dedication and commitment which motivates the students for research, innovate and help the society in development and technological mindset.
Many students from this department have cleared national level exams like CSIR NET & JRF, GATE etc. Many have acquired doctorate and post doctorate degrees from well recognized institutions all over India and students of this department are serving in colleges, universities, multinational companies and also in Indian Administration Services. Our department caters to the needs of the teachers in local school and colleges.
